DOCENT/TOUR GUIDE:

PURPOSE – To educate our birthday party attendees and other small-medium sized groups on the history of fire service and monitor the museum.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES – Lead groups on an interactive 40 minute guided tour of our museum. Group tours are determined based on age, objective, and group size. When not giving group tours – to be on hand in the museum galleries for questions and to provide assistance to museum visitors. Clean and maintain museum exhibits as necessary or required.

QUALIFICATIONS – A desire to do or previous experience in giving presentations. Knowledge and/or interest in fire service or history a plus.

COMMITMENT – 2 Saturdays a month and open to occasional groups during the week and on Sundays as needed. 3-4 flexible (4 hour) shifts a month

TRAINING – 2 Saturdays a month for 3 months…or 6 consecutive Saturdays –

GUEST SERVICES:

PURPOSE – To guide the event host in providing a timely and enjoyable event experience for their guest

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES – Assisting the host in checking in, familiarizing the host with the event hall, museum, obligations, schedule and rules. Make sure that the event area is clean and ready for all events, turn the room in between events.  Take out garbage, wipe down tables, sweep and mop and other cleaning as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS – A desire to inform and ability to enforce the event hall flow, rules and offerings. – A desire to do or previous experience in giving presentations. Knowledge and/or interest in fire service or history a plus.
